Matthew Brett serves as Creative Director on many of our client engagements through a strategic alliance with Prosper Strategies. In addition to his work with Prosper, Matthew founded Substance Strategic Visual Communication in 2005.
Matthew works with nonprofit clients to tell their stories in a compelling visual manner that is a natural and authentic extension of their mission. He has been the creative lead on renaming and rebranding projects for organizations such as Forefront (formerly Donors Forum), Resilience (formerly Rape Victim Advocates), and Ignite (formerly Teen Living Programs) and on campaigns for organizations such as AIDS Foundation of Chicago, The Robert. R. McCormick Foundation and Thresholds.
Matthew has also worked with global brands such as Caterpillar, Accenture, and Eli Lilly while at the marketing agencies Closerlook and Organic. He has been a guest lecturer and design critic at the University of Notre Dame and Columbia College of Chicago.
Matthew’s work has been recognized in publications such as Communication Arts, Print Regional Design Annual, Creativity, Graphic Design:USA, UnderConsideration and The One Show.
He received his BFA in Graphic Design from Kent State University.
