Webinar: Equity Imperatives for Nonprofit Communicators and Fundraisers

This summer has been a time of reckoning when it comes to the racial injustice that plagues our country. Nonprofits have long been leaders when it comes to race equity work, so it was no surprise that many organizations were quick to respond to the senseless killing of George Floyd and the summer of activism with powerful statements and acts of solidarity.

But what comes next? As nonprofits aim to build on the momentum of the last few months in ways that align with their missions, what role can nonprofit communicators and fundraisers play in addressing racism and advancing equity? We’ll discuss this important topic with three leaders answering these questions at their own organizations:

-Alejandra Y. Castillo, CEO, YWCA
-Adriana Díaz, Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Peer Health Exchange
-Santrice R. Martin, Director of Advancement, Comer Education Campus

They’ll discuss what they’re doing at their nonprofits and share equity imperatives for nonprofit communicators and fundraisers that you can incorporate into your own work, such as:

-Establishing strength-based and actively anti-racist messaging guidelines for your organization
-Bringing your team, from your leadership to your interns and volunteers, along with an anti-racist approach to communications
-Maintaining donor and funder relationships while taking a strong stance on racial justice
-Fostering diversity, equity and inclusion on your team and board through recruitment marketing and internal communications
-Moving from statements and sentiment into real action

Live attendance will be capped at 250 people, so please arrive early to claim your spot. If you are unable to get into the live session, we will send the recording following the live webinar.
