We are so excited to announce our first-ever winner of our Changemaker Marketing Lab Grant. After reviewing an extremely impressive candidate pool and speaking with some truly amazing organizations, one applicant rose to the top.
Without further ado, we’d like to introduce you to 2016’s Changemaker Marketing Lab grantee: Rebuilding Exchange.
Rebuilding Exchange is a nonprofit social enterprise based in Chicago that is committed to boosting the economy by creating a market for reclaimed building materials, while promoting sustainable reuse practices. Rebuilding Exchange also provides those who need employment with the resources and opportunities for careers in carpentry, deconstruction and management.
Rebuilding Exchange applied for the Changemaker Marketing Lab with a long-term vision of building a robust marketing strategy that focuses on driving brand awareness and amplifying impact.
We couldn’t be more excited to get to work with Rebuilding Exchange in the upcoming months. Stay tuned to hear more about the organization’s success.
But we couldn’t pick just one winner this year. There were simply too many impactful, inspiring organizations in our applicant pool. That’s why we’ve chosen to award a partial grant to our first, second and third runners up: DePaul Industries, Connections to Success and Family Services. All three organizations have been offered a $4,000 grant for Changemaker Marketing Lab, allowing them to go through the entire six month program for $8,000 versus the typical investment of $12,000.
First Runner Up: DePaul Industries
DePaul Industries is a social enterprise with a mission to help people with disabilities have the opportunity to work. Despite the organization’s size and 45 year track record, they feel they’ve flown under the radar in terms of recognition, and they are interested in exploring ways to win more business and employ more individuals in need through Changemaker Marketing Lab.
Second Runner Up: Connections to Success
Connections to Success is a nonprofit that inspires individuals to overcome barriers to employment and realize their dreams to achieve economic independence by providing hope, resources and a plan. They’re excited about the possibility of more effectively sharing their story to attract new funders, donors, volunteers and participants and broadening their impact with the help of Changemaker Marketing Lab.
Third Runner Up: Family Services
Family Services is a nonprofit devoted to protecting, healing, and caring for the people of northeast Wisconsin through all of life’s transitions and challenges. The organization is currently struggling to find a way to discuss it’s broad range of programs and services, and they’re excited about gaining clarity about both their messaging and their marketing strategy through Changemaker Marketing Lab.
Our thanks go out to everyone who applied for this year’s Changemaker Marketing Lab Grant and everyone who helped spread the word!
