Lindsay Mullen

Co-Founder and CEO

Born into an entrepreneurial family, Prosper Strategies’ CEO Lindsay Mullen is passionate about building and growing impactful organizations with the support of smart communications. There’s nothing she likes more than navigating a tough challenge with resourceful strategy. Lindsay works with changemaking clients to get to the core of who they are and bring their strongest stories to the forefront. She has a knack for getting people to say, “I never thought of it that way.”

In addition to her storytelling abilities, Lindsay isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty and enjoys spending time in the trenches developing strategy and concepting new ideas and new organizations. Lindsay has worked closely with leadership at AT&T to develop a strategy to change the narrative around telecom policy; advised the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation on delicate communications issues regarding the lease of the architect’s archives and collections; assisted Vanguard Health Systems with their Certificate of Need process in Illinois; and launched Challenge Detroit, a workforce development nonprofit credited with leading the rebound of Detroit’s millennial workforce.

She has worked with some of the most prominent organizations in the world to build their marketing initiatives, engage stakeholders and navigate communications challenges. Through her work, she has launched companies and careers, created local and national thought leadership campaigns and taken brands to the next level. Lindsay has an interesting way of connecting dots others don’t even know exist.

While Lindsay has built a strong track record in the communications arena, she also spent a number of years as executive director of the Illinois Technology Partnership (ITP), where she worked with technology and business leaders to advocate for forward-thinking technology policies in Illinois. She built and led an advisory board for the organization which included AT&T, the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, the Illinois Technology Association, and many other prominent organizations. Through her work with ITP, Lindsay was often quoted in media outlets including Crain’s Chicago Business, the Chicago Sun-Times and the Chicago Tribune regarding tech issues of the day. She also provided expert testimony on tech and telecom-related policies at the state level. Under her leadership, ITP was named one of the top 30 tech organizations in Chicago by Crain’s Chicago Business. Most importantly, ITP was influential in the passage of updated telecommunications laws in Illinois, first in 2010 and more recently in 2015.

Lindsay is still actively involved in the tech community as a council member for Ms. Tech, an organization devoted to helping tech women do business and businesswomen do tech. She regularly conducts communications workshops at organizations including Google, 1871 and the Impact Engine Accelerator for organizations looking to grow their organizations and do more good with the support of effective marketing and communications.

Prior to launching her own firm, Lindsay worked at national public affairs firm Resolute Consulting where she launched and was a leader in the technology practice group. In addition, she managed communications support for corporate and nonprofit clients going through various regulatory and approval processes. Lindsay previously developed and managed national campaigns for a communications firm in Washington, D.C., where she specialized in earned media placement and managed event logistics for clients. Lindsay is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Journalism and Mass Communications.
